In Barbados
The Christine Charity Fund
Through the Needy Fund program CHA has maintained a strong collaboration with the Christine Charity Fund in Barbados. The Christine Charity Fund is a non-profit organization that lends assistance to underprivileged children and the elderly. Over the past 15 years the program has donated money, school supplies and clothing with plans to expand as we move forward.
Elementary School Assistance
The Needy Fund recently began a new charitable project which offers support to elementary schools in Barbados. For this initiative, the Needy Fund selects elementary schools in Barbados to provide assistance to by donating various school supplies. This idea originated from one of the members who shared a story of a school teacher who expressed her struggles to conduct meaningful lessons in her classroom due to the shortage of school supplies. After learning about the issues teachers faced, CHA collectively became inspired and decided to increase their outreach to assist the schools. Thus far CHA has assisted the Chalky Mount, Hindsbury, Belmont and Holy Innocents elementary schools, with plans to expand this program to assist others.
Book Donations
Reading to children at an early age is extremely important and will positively impact their development as future leaders. CHA fosters this belief and has donated books to the Barbados Public Library. We were please to have been able to assist in the venture.
Additional Charitable Efforts
Donations have been made to disaster victims, medical treatment funds and families experiencing financial difficulties.
